Liverpool’s number one celebrates Champions League victory by declaring his Christian faith

Liverpool shot stopper, Alisson celebrated the Red’s victory in the Champions League final by showing the millions of viewers across the world what the Christian faith means to him.

At the sound of the full time whilst, Liverpool players and staff flooded the pitch in celebration – they were the Champions League winners. In and amongst the celebrations, Red’s keeper, Alisson took off his goalkeeping jersey to reveal another shirt which he wanted to unveil in the celebrations. The top simply had 3 symbols etched upon the material, but their meaning is invaluable. Cross = Love.

The former Roma star has also recently advised future goalkeepers that faith plays an important role in success. “If you want to be a great keeper, you need to work very hard. That’s what I do. You need to be very focused on football and I think faith is important too,” he said. “If you believe in God, you know you have to do your best on the pitch and put love into everything you do in life.”

The Brazilian praised God on social media posting the image with him holding the Champions League trophy aloft with the caption – ‘God is love’.

It’s so refreshing to see players with such social power in today’s culture humbling themselves to give God all the glory.
