Liverpool keeper set to leave for Turkey in two-year loan deal

Is Lorius Karius set to depart Anfield?

Today, BBC Sport reported that Liverpool shot-stopper Lorius Karius is in-talks with Turkish side, Besiktas over a possible two-year loan deal. Karius, 25 has come under heavy criticism after his disappointing performance in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

Karius has since fallen out of favour under boss, Jurgen Klopp who opted to sign committed Christian keeper, Alisson Becker this summer instead of giving the German an opportunity to salvage his claim for the number one jersey.

If he agrees to the loan, it would leave Simon Mignolet as Liverpool’s only senior back-up to Alisson.┬áIt is also reported that Besiktas will have the option to buy Karius at the end of his loan.

Liverpool also sold fourth choice keeper, Danny Ward to Leicester this season, which means Klopp may have to dip his toes in the transfer market in January to find an replacement to cover the third keeping position.

Will Karius play for Liverpool again?
