Former Arsenal midfielder joins rivals Manchester City as coach

Former Arsenal midfielder, Mikel Arteta has joined Premier League rivals, Manchester City as part of the coaching staff at the Etihad. 

Former Gunners midfielder, Mikel Arteta has left the Emirates as a player and joined Premier League rivals, Manchester City as a coach. 

Arteta, 34, retired from playing at the end of last season following a five-year stint with the Gunners. He now partners up with new Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola as part of the former Barcelona managers coaching staff.

The Spaniard has endured a spectacular career, most notably in the Premier League with the likes of Everton and Arsenal. The experienced centre-midfielder will add invaluable qualities to the Citizens squad and backroom staff as he begins his first ever non-playing role.

A player who always exuded passion and professionalism, Arteta’s coaching career will be one that catches the eye of many Premier League fans.
