Manchester United boss has been heaping the praise on one of his players after some superb performances of late.
Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho ran out of superlatives for the recent form of wing back, Ashley Young after his stunning performances against Brighton and Watford, respectively.
Young, 32, bagged a brace against the Hornets and once again provided a sold display to impress the Red Devils boss, who told BBC Sport that the former Aston Villa midfielders performances are “better than ever”.
Young’s impressive season under Mourinho continues as the newly adopted wing back has added goals, assists and also an eye for defending to his game. The United defender’s career at Old Trafford has not bee plain sailing and has often been linked with moves away from the Premier League giants. Despite speculation off the field, Young’s determination and excellent displays have earned him a place back in the starting XI under Mourinho as well as a recall into the England squad.
As Manchester United continue to apply pressure on their rivals, City, they will certainly be thanking Young for keeping them in the hunt for that coveted Premier League title. Despite stepping into his 30’s and playing out of position from what he’s used to, it seems Young’s performances of late have certainly put him back in the limelight.
United now have a pillar whom they can rely on when the going gets tough. The experience of Ashley Young will no doubt be called upon many more times this season as Mourinho’s side look to chase their noisy, Blue neighbours.
